China Mobile (Jiutian)

Jiutian (九天) is the in-house AI foundation-model brand of China Mobile, the state-owned telecom operator (the AI brand launched in 2019 and was elevated to a strategic priority in 2023). It builds general and industry-specific foundation models spanning language, vision, speech, structured data, and multimodal, at parameter scales "from billions to trillions" — by late 2024 it reported a two-trillion-parameter multimodal model plus ~30 industry models.

The JT ("Jiutian") series is its LLM line. Its JT-4.1 Flash reached the Chinese frontier tier for its class on the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index — a notable entry from a state-owned telecom rather than a dedicated AI lab.
