Chief Scientist of Google DeepMind & Google Research. Joined Google in 1999 (employee ~#30). Co-authored foundational Google infrastructure (MapReduce, BigTable, Spanner) and led Google Brain (founded 2011). Co-authored Word2Vec (2013) and the Transformer paper (2017). One of the most cited computer scientists alive. Member of the US National Academy of Engineering and National Academy of Sciences. ACM Prize in Computing (2012).
